POSSIBLE 2024 NFHS SOFTBALL RULES CHANGE
1. Permitting bat sensors in high school competition.
2. Allowing one-way communication from the coach to the catcher.
3. Allowing one-way electronic communication from the coach to infielders.
4. Increasing the time between innings to 90 seconds and requiring umpires to use a stopwatch to enforce the timeframe. Violations result in a strike or a ball.
5. Reinstating the prohibition of intentional walks.
6. Mandating equipment checks to be conducted by umpires.
7. Adding pitcher’s lanes to which the pitcher is restricted when delivering a pitch.
